This policy describes how Summit Dermatology & Aesthetics ("we," "us") handles information collected through our website, summitderm.com. It does not govern the medical and health information we collect when you are a patient of the practice — that information (your "Protected Health Information," or PHI) is handled separately under HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices, and is never used for the website analytics or advertising described below.
Information you give us. When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email, phone number, and message you provide so we can respond to your inquiry. Form messages are delivered to our office by email; please do not include sensitive medical details in the contact form.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect limited technical and usage data — such as pages viewed, approximate (city-level) location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site — using cookies and similar technologies.
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser. We use:
Essential / analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics' _ga cookie) to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These run by default and contain no directly identifying information.
Advertising cookies are used only with your consent. When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept or Decline advertising cookies. We use Google Consent Mode, so advertising and ad-personalization storage stays off until you accept. Your choice is remembered in a small summit_consent cookie, and you can change it at any time (see "Your choices").
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site traffic and performance in aggregate. We have not enabled Google Signals (cross-device demographic tracking) on this property.
With your consent, we may show you ads for our aesthetic (cosmetic) services after you visit the site ("remarketing"), through Google Ads. We do this responsibly:
• We build remarketing audiences only from general and aesthetics pages. We do not build advertising audiences based on medical-dermatology pages, health conditions, treatments, or any sensitive health interest.
• We never use your Protected Health Information or anything from your patient records for advertising.
• Our ads concern general cosmetic and skincare services only.
We share limited data with service providers who help us run the site — for example Google (analytics and advertising) and our contact-form delivery provider. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law.
• Cookie banner: Accept or Decline advertising cookies when you first visit. To change your choice later, clear this site's cookies in your browser and reload, and the banner will reappear.
• Google Ads: You can manage or opt out of personalized ads at myadcenter.google.com.
• Browser controls: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
This website is intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through the site.
